3. Spirituality

CLIENTS

Our three principles provide the foundation to emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Contemporary or western techniques used in Mino Miikanan are meant to be used as tools and are not intended to be a cultural or identity replacement. Participants will garner a sense of purpose and meaning they can carry with them in all areas of their lives. All of which create a positive language for trauma and addiction

ABOUT US

WHEN WE HONOR OUR STORIES

WE HONOR OURSELVES

Mino Miikanan is designed to be delivered to community members and assist professionals in enhancing knowledge of the impacts of trauma and addiction. This program focuses on the negative behaviours of individuals who have the experience of trauma and addiction, not on the narrative (the story) of the trauma itself. In other words, no disclosure of one’s experiences is ever required. Participants will learn how to find purpose and meaning within one’s personal experiences. Since trauma took away choice, this program will offer choice back at every opportunity.

TESTIMONIALS

"We received a two-week training session from Mino Miikanan on understanding the impacts of trauma and addictions. This training was very important for our participants and helped us to build a shared understanding of the impacts of colonization on Inuit, the ways trauma affects intergenerational behaviours and the devastating outcomes across society in every stage of life. The training provided a very strong foundation of understanding that is allowing us to build a new approach to dealing with trauma using our cultural strengths and practices to rebuild across our generations."
